A phonetic translation of Anton Webern's Six Bagatelles for String Quartet. The score is derived from the letters of all the notes in Webern's score in the same order, with performance notations for duration and phrasing all now loosely and typographically indicated by punctuation, spacing, and font size.

The piece is for four vocalists, with each line in the score representing instructions for a single vocalist. This particular translation is limited to phonemes associated with the American dialect of the English language and utilizes the International Phonetic Alphabet for more accurate notation of pronunciation. See the score notes for more information on performance instructions.

The piece was composed late 2007 and performed in the spring of 2008 for the "Universal Instrument," a concert of new works for voice presented by the Austin New Music Co-op. The sound files are from the rehearsals.
